Octavia Spencer’s Southern Honey Butter Biscuits

2 cups self-rising flour
½ cup unsalted butter (cold, cubed)
¾ cup buttermilk
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp melted butter (for brushing)

Preheat oven to 425°F. In a bowl, cut butter into the flour until crumbly. Stir in buttermilk and honey until just combined. Roll out dough to ½ inch thick and cut biscuits. Bake for 12-15 minutes, then brush with melted butter. Enjoy warm!

Octavia Spencer, born in Montgomery, Alabama, is an Academy Award-winning actress best known for her role in The Help. She has also starred in Hidden Figures, The Shape of Water, and Self Made. Beyond acting, she’s an advocate for diversity in film and a children’s book author.
